Unleashed knows your stock; a retailer describes it differently
Unleashed holds product codes, units of measure and stock across warehouses, and it does that well. What it does not hold is how a particular retailer refers to the same thing, which is a GTIN at a packaging level they have chosen and a delivery point identified by a GLN.
That translation is the integration. It has to hold when you add a pack size, retire a product code or start supplying the same item in a different configuration, which for a growing brand happens constantly.
Assemblies are where the quantities stop being obvious
Many Unleashed customers sell things that are assembled from components: a multipack, a mixed case, a gift set. A retailer orders the finished thing, but your stock position lives in the parts, and what you can commit depends on what can be built.
The order has to resolve to the item the retailer actually gets, and the despatch has to describe it the way their goods-in expects, which is rarely how it is held in your bill of materials. Deciding that once, at mapping, is what stops it being re-litigated per order.
